Paddock

Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Paddock does not collect anything about you. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party code in the app at all. This page explains what that means in practice.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server and receive no data from the app. We cannot see your animals, your records, your photographs, or how you use Paddock.

What stays on your device

Everything you enter — animals and flocks, events, production figures, reminders, notes and photographs — is stored on your device by the app. Your preferences (theme, weight unit, the hour reminders arrive) are stored the same way.

iCloud

If you have iCloud switched on for Paddock, your records sync through your own private iCloud database, provided by Apple under your Apple Account. We have no access to it and cannot read what is in it. Turning iCloud off leaves the app fully working with everything kept on the device. iCloud is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device. No reminder text leaves your phone. Paddock asks for notification permission only at the moment you first record something that earns a reminder, and declining it leaves the rest of the app unaffected.

Purchases

Paddock Unlimited is sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app only whether a purchase is active. We never see your name, your payment details, or your Apple Account.

Required-reason APIs

The app declares one of Apple's required-reason APIs, UserDefaults, used under reason CA92.1 to store your own preferences for the app itself. This is published in the app's privacy manifest and visible in its App Store privacy report.

Children

Paddock is a record book for people who keep livestock. It is not directed at children, collects nothing from anyone, and is rated 4+.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. Everything is in your hands: any record can be edited or deleted in the app, all of it exports to CSV, and deleting the app removes what is on the device. Records you synced to iCloud are removed through your Apple Account's iCloud settings.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the date above changes with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
