Paddock
The notebook on the barn door, in your pocket. Cards for your animals and your flocks, the events that happen to them, the eggs and milk they give, and a reminder before the next thing is due. It works with no signal at all, because the barn has none.
What it keeps
- Goats, sheep, pigs, cattle and rabbits, one card each.
- Chickens, ducks, Muscovy ducks, geese and quail, kept as a flock with a head count.
- Due dates worked out from the breeding — 150 days for a goat, 147 for a ewe, 283 for a cow.
- The incubator day by day: when to candle, and the day the lid shuts.
- Withdrawal periods you can see — meat, milk or eggs, whichever that animal gives.
- Eggs and milk in one tap, with twelve weeks of history.
